can OL2003 PST file be opened or imported?

Greetings.....

Can Windows Mail open or import a PST file created by OL2003? I don't have
OL running on vista, but I would like to copy the file from a different PC
to the vista PC. I don't need to receive mail into that PST file, I'd just
would like to have it around for historical reasons.

thanks in advance!

No
In order to do so Outlook must be configured on the Vista PC, and connected
to that pst (which you dont use Import to conect to outlook, simply open the
pst within outlook and set it as default)

You could, on the old PC in Outlook Export msgs to OE, then export contacts
to the wab file. Then transfer your OE msg store and wab file to the Vista
PC. It would then be available to Mail to import
