Here is one that has got me stumped. I'm running WinXP Pro. All I'm trying
to do is share a folder on my C: drive so I can access it from another
computer on my LAN. The problem I'm having is when I select "Sharing and
Security" then click "Share this folder on the network" and then hit "OK" I
get the following error message:
"An error occurred while trying to share "name of folder". The Server
service is not started. The shared resource was not created at this time."
So it seems simple enough, go to services.msc and start the server service.
Here is my real problem. If I try to start the Server service, I get this
error message:
"Could not start the Server service on Local Computer. Error 126: The
specified module could not be found."
I've looked all over the web to no avail. I can't find a fix. I've tried
reinstalling Service Pack 1. Started any services that are related to Server
service (dependencies) and nothing seems to work. I really don't want to
reinstall Windows in fear that it may create more problems than it will
solve. I think I removed a .dll file when I uninstalled a program (which one
I don't know). Any suggestions are most appreciated. Thanks!
