Hi

I have looked after a solutions to this problem the last few days but
without luck...
I have saved some pictures along the time from the WEB through my IE 6.x /SP2
(and before the SP2 update ofcourse) using the the right-click on a picture
and then saved the picture as "oooo.jpg" or whar ever the picture was named.
But without any reason I got last week - when using the "save picture as" -
this message:
Name: "untitled"
Format: ".bmp"
And I can not change it.

I have looked for an answer and found these:
Artikel no.: 810978 + 250747 + 260650

I have done what the 810978 artikel tells me/us to do, but I still have the
problem!!!

Any one with a solutions to this problem?

I have seen that other earlier have talked about this problem, but the
solutions that they was given - I have done without any luck, so I stay in a
new situation and this is also under the new SP2 update package!

Friendly regards

This happens if the indexes of the Temporary Internet Files get
overloaded. In Control Panel - Internet Options, in the temporary
Internet files section on the General page, click 'Delete files'. Then
I suggest click Settings and reduce the space allowed - 50 MB is
probably generous, and on big drives it tends to choose by default a
setting that is so high that this overload happens

Hi Alex

Thanks for your attempt to help me, but...

Your advise did not help in my case.

As a matter of fact I do a "clean up" very offen like:
Delete Cookies
Clear history
Delete files with the offline content checked

And I have just checek my cache size and you did have right here it was on
312MB.
So I have just resized that cache to 75MB.
And after that I went on a homepage with some pictures and then I tried to
save one of them with the use of a right click and then "save picture as" and
I still got the "bmp" format and nothing else.
I checked on top of that the properties of the picture before and it was a
"zzz.jpg" format.
So my problem is not solved at this moment....

Frinedly regards

Hi Wes

As I wrote in my first mail:

I have looked for an answer and found these:

I have done what the 810978 artikel tells me/us to do, but I still have the

------------------------
They do not help !
- No KB810978 is the newest and most detailed and I have tried it all - and
I still have the problem !

Hi

I have found "my" solution on the problem.
And I have made a copy of it from the Windows XP Photo group post:

----------------
Hi John

Thanks for your help, but I did not have any problems with finding the
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Account\Local Settings\Temp....and Temporary
Internet Files

I normally once every day - just in case - make the clean up under the
Internet Options/general pane.

And normally I have not any problems in fact I have never tried this before.

But after you wrote to me I went in to the folders and looked in their
properties and here I sav that Internet temp... did have cache on 17.4MB.
And after I did the deleting there was still 15.6MB left and that was very
strange. Normally there would be max 2.5MB left. So I logged out as User no 1
and back in as the administrator in safe mode.
And then I went through all the "Temp" and "Internet temporary files"
folders under all the settings on my computer. And then there was only
16-44KB left in these folders.
Then I logged out and back in as User no. 1. After that I tried to go online
and found a picture and tried to save picture as.....
And this time it worked as it should :)))
The picture was a zzz.jpg file and I got same name in the "save as" box.

But it is strange that there are 15.6MB after a deleting process for no
reason at all.

So the solution in my case was not just to delete everything in Temp - and
Internet temporary files folders - as I normallly do.
But I did have to login as administrator in safemode and then make the
deleting.

Very strange ....

But now I know what I have to do on my "Personal Computer (= PC)" next time
I experince this problem.

But thanks to you and others for the dialoque :)

Friendly regards
