Save Picture As

A friend is having trouble trying to save animations I send him in an email.
When he uses Save Picture As he can only save as a bmp file and not a gif
which is what an animation is. He is running Windows XP. Any ideas?

Empty the Temporary Internet files folder.
In IE, Tools, Internet Options, click on Delete files.

My friend says this didn't help but I suspect he didn't try everything. Just
a guess. Thanks for your effort.
