can not open any pictures

I used to be able to see all my pictures and scroll
through them with the standard tool bar. The tool bar
disappeared and my pictures can not be opened. Help!

Nothing will happen. It just sits there. The extensions
haven't changed. I think I am going to start over. I
have all the pictures on cd. Maybe that will work.
