Can not log on to certain websites using Windows Internet Explorer

We currently have a LAN setup connected to a Linksis router Model# WRT54GS
From this router we access the internet via DSL modem - ISP provider is AOL -
In router setup we enter an AOL screen name and a corresponding password to
access AOL/Internet. From our various computers, we generally always use
Windows Interner Explorer to access websites. Yesterday, on trying to log
into belkin.com we got the "cannot find page" error message". However, when
we entered the website address using AOL's 9.0 software package, belkin.com
comes up in a millisecond. On further comparing various website entries we
have determined the response speed (the time that it takes for the website to
appear on the screen) to be much faster using AOL's 9.0 software vs. Windows
Internet Explorer. Question: (1) Why is Windows Internet Explorer unable to
bring up a certain website that AOL 9.0 can bring up and (2) why is AOL 9.0
somewhat faster?
Is there something that I can do to Internet Explorer to at least bring up
the websites that we should be able to get without having to use AOL 9.0
software to get the job done. The speed doesn't bother us - we would just
like Internet Explorer to bring up all the websites that AOL 9.0 can bring
up. Many thanks for your comments!!!

A final comment: At home, we have high speed cable (Comcast) and when I use
Windows Internet Explorer, belkin.com comes up in a milli second - no
problem!!
