When I click on forward news item (in Outlook News (OE)) nothing happens. If
I click reply the normall security box comes up with a delay timer for allow
for 1 minute however, that disappears and nothing happens.

Thanks,
J.

Outlook EXPRESS NEWS has nothing to do with OUTLOOK and does not need
OUTLOOK open to function.
Your problem rests with outlook EXPRESS ( A different program to Outlook).

How can this be ? when O EXPRESS runs quite happily on machines without
OUTLOOK even installed.
I have never seen any evidence of Outlook running when sending message to
News Groups.

OE uses outlook for forwading and replying unless REPLYTOGROUP is clicked.
Unless you don't have outlook in which case you are only using OE for eMAIL.

If you use reply to group, it posts it to the newsgroup. If you use Reply or
Forward, it sends it as email and uses your default email program.
