Hi,

I computer was infiected with some kind of boot sector or other virus which
I managed to clean but it left its mark in the form of a msg which pops up
when I try to open any of my drives from My Computer by double clicking on
any of the drive icons but windows complains that it can find 'rose.exe' and
blah blah blah.

What will I have to do to get this cleared and I be able to open drives by
double clicking on them in My Computer?

Thanx 4 ur time n effort in advance.

You need to run it through a virus scanner first of all, to make sure you got
it all.

Do a search for "rose.exe" on all the major AV sites like symantec, etc. and
see if they have a registry fix instruction set for getting rid of that.

Short of all that, I generally just run windows XP upgrade so that you dont
have to reinstall the apps. Some people use system restore, but i dont
generally do that when its a virus.
