can not download Zip files

XP home when i try to download zip files and punch open, programs that are
open start blinking and the only way I can stop it is to manually turn off
the computer. If I mark the zip file to save, it goes to my documents ok
until I punch open it starts blinking and I have manually turn it off. I
hope someone can help me. thanks

I would suggest either ZipCentral or 7Zip, both free, and unlike Winzip, both
without registration nags.

I tend to put ZipCentral onto computers I install as a matter of course,
most users say they prefer its way of working to the XP 'zip folders'
approach. 7Zip is good for the more advanced user.
