Can not delete from deleted folder

I am running Vista Windows Mail. I have deleted emails that I can not
delete. when I try to delete them it says that an unknown error has occured.
When I look at the email I deleted it no longer says what the original email
said. It changes to this:

Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.

Low memory or low disk space is not the problem and I am unable to find and
answers as to why this happened and how to fix it.

I also am having this problem - I have tried the download fix but with no
result. I now have 300 odd emails in delete box,.
