Can not access Control Panel

When I attempt to open the control panel (either from the
start menu or from My Computer) I get an error
saying "Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close." In addition sometimes a second error comes up
saying that Dr. Watson has also encountered an error.

Running XPP SP2

Any ideas?

Are you signed in as an Administrator? If so, spyware can cause this. Run Ad
Aware & remove all items it finds.

Hi Brian,

Have you removed a program recently that installed an icon in the Control
Panel. If so, go to Start/Search and type in: *.cpl

When the one in question appears, delete it.
