Can not access Admin$ share files

Windows 2000 server uses Admin$ (C:\winnt), IPC$ for
remote access for installs over a LAN. The folder says it
is shared but no Icon on the folder with the hand
supporting the folder is present. It is listed as an
administrative share folder, but no access is
permitted....

Could you re-explain this from the beginning? IPC$ isn't a folder. Who is
denied access? Locally? Over the network? Is there an error? etc.

This share is only allowed for users with Admin rights. Make sure you are authenticating to this machine with an admin account.
