Hi,

We have just connected to win 2k computers using network cards. Both
computers belong to the same workgroup.

Each computer can be seen in network neighbourhood on both machines.

We wish to share the folder c:\temp on Computer B.

When we click on the ComputerB icon from ComputerA we are promoted for
a username and password.

Despite entering the correct username and password we cannot log on
The Enter Username and Password dialog screen repeatedly prompts for
the login details.

We have run the command 'net share' on computer B and get the
following results

C$ c:\ Default Share
IPC$ Remote IPC
ADMIN$ c:\winnt Remote Admin
$temp c:\temp

We then run the command 'net view \computerB' from computerA and get
the following results.

System Error 5 has occured. Access is denied.

Can anyone help us out or advise how we grant access. We have set all
permissions on the c:\temp folder on computerB to read / write etc.

Thank You.

Chris

Hi Marina,

Yes, both users exist on both machines and have the same username and passwords.

Thanks,

Chris
