Can no one really help me?

Here's my post from 2 days ago, but I find it interesting that no one has
commented. Is this really not possible?

using WIN/Word 2K,

I'd like to know how I can add color to the boxed index letter when I create
an index using Word's "fancy" format.

I don't want to color the index entries themselves, only the title letter
and box under which the entries fall.

Thanks in advance.

A number of us don't have Word 2000 installed anymore, which makes it
difficult to verify that a "solution" will work for you. However, give this
a try. The boxed letter (in Word 2003, at least, and I hope in Word 2000) is
formatted using the Index Heading style. You can accomplish the desired aim
by modifying the Index Heading style's default font formatting to include
the desired color.

I can confirm that it works the same way in Word 2000. In the Modify
Style dialog, click the Format button and choose Border; then click
the Shading tab in the dialog and choose the color for the background.
Click the Format button again and choose Font to change the color of
the text. Check the "Add to template" option before finally clicking
OK in the Modify Style dialog.
