Changing the format for an existing index

I followed all the instructions on how to change an existing index & got the
error message, "Error! No index entries found". Two questions, did I miss
something & secondly, can someone walk me through on how to change the
format of an existing index?

FYI, I am using the Manual wizard provided in the Templates dialog box &
working in Word 2003.

Hi Shaz-

That messaage suggests that what you are calling an index was _typed_ rather
than generated using Insert>Reference>Index & Tables. If that is the case,
the entries have not been marked in the doc, so the feature cannot work.

As with any other text, you can format it directly or using syles.
