Can names be merged to a form and still have other fields active?

I want to setup a form and then merge a list of names into certain fields and
then go to each form created during the merge process and be able to enter
data into other fields and text boxes. It seems that the merge process
de-activates the other fields.

Mail merge and forms weren't designed to work together. See if this article
