Can n ot get to symantec.com or live update anti virus

ok so i get home from school, and it turned out i needed
to set a proxy for explorer to view anti virus websites
also updates for anti virus are nto workign. what do i do
to fix the problem.

Looks like a virus has blocked you from going to Symantec.com or LiveUpdate.
Run an online virus scan to clear out your computer.

I am having the same problem. I get a message saying the "connection was refused attempting to connect to Symantic." I've run virus scan and there are no viruses on my computer. I could not run live update with either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. I switched to AOL and was able to download updated virus definiations with Inteligent Updater so my virus definitions are up to date. I still cannot access Symantic or even McAfee.
