Can I make my database notify my customers via email?

Yes. There are also commerical products you can purchase (if you do not want
to spend the time writing the code). If you are interested in knowing some
suggestions, please let me know.

Hi Rob,
I have a question about these commercial products for emailing from Access.
Can you have automated emails sent out when new records are created in a
specific table? If so, can you point in the direction of a product that has
this capability?

Thanks

PMFJI but... you could do so if the new record is entered via a Form;
but Access tables don't have events, so if the user enters directly
into the table datasheet or populates the table using an append query
or VBA code, the answer is no. On a Form you can use the Form's
AfterInsert event to call the email software.

Hi John,
They would be entering a new record via a form. Could a code be written in
VBA to do this without addin software? As you can tell I'm new to VBA and I
wouldn't even know where to begin. I'm in a crunch for time also.

Because you have asked for further information about a commerical product, I
am providing one product that our company produces. A trial version is
available for your review.

Here we go again. These newsgroups are for FREE user to user support.
Unfortunately, steve AKA PCD believes that these newsgroups are here so that
he can prey on unsuspecting uers.

Though I think he's probably picked on this one so that, when he gets
attacked again, he can have a whine about "...but why is it OK for RobFMS to
post links to commercial software...." Before you do that Steve, could I
suggest that you try thinking about it. The difference should be clear to
anyone with half a brain cell.

TD,

My offer to help you is sincere! If you don't know where to start and are in
a time crunch, I can help you. Numerous newsgroup readers keep coming to me
for help after posting to the newsgroups. here are some comments made by
people from the newsgroups that came to
me and paid me to help them ---

I like it a lot. It does exactly what I want, very good job. Thankyou and I
repeat GOOD JOB

OK, Perfect, well done. See you when I need something more.

Your very helpful email speaks volumes about your level of professionalism.
I will definitely keep your contact information for anyone who needs these
types of services - we very frequently get local businesses
contacting us looking for exactly the type of service you provide.

One word: Wow. I had no clue it could be such an "aesthetically pleasing"
interface. I figured it'd just be a big chart. That's amazing. You've really
helped me cause out a lot, and you've done a tremendous job with this demo.
With this, I can more easily explain how a database could help us out.

Thanks for looking ahead. That is the reason I really feel safe working with
you. couple of the programmers who do work for me, need to be checked to
told to do every step of the way. With you, I just need to tell you what I
need to be done, and you will think ahead of all the problems that might
occur in the process.

Well, for what its worth, I generally ask if the person is interested in a
commerical product before I go ahead an post a link... either to our
products or someone elses. If they respond positively, then I'll post the
link, otherwise, I will not post the link.

Given S.S.'s response to my asking (Thursday, December 08, 2005 7:51 PM
post), then it seems to be acceptable.

My offer to help TD was very sincere. He said he did not know where to start
and is in a time crunch. And yes I am in business to provide customers a
resource for help llike this and I expect to be paid for the help. In the
past numerous newsgroup readers have come to me for help like this and have
paid me for my help. I continue to get newsgroup readers coming to me for
help. I have also provided innumerable responses of free help to posters in
the newsgroups.

Now that you bring it up, why don't you explain why it is OK for RobFMS to
clearly advertise software by FMS. It is pure product advertisement.

I have a calendar form and calendar report module which can be used to
display different data in each day of the calendar. As the name implies,
both look like pages torn from a calendar. The year and month for the
calendar are selectable from a menu at the top of the screen. My calendar
module has been used by many customers in scheduling applications. I also
have a 7 - Day form and report module that can display different data in
each day. The first day in the 7 Day period is selectable and can be any day
of the week. The 7 - Day form and report look like a week from a calendar.

If you feel that this sort of advertising in a newsgroup that is intended
for Access users to provide help for one another on a no charge basis, I
suggest you report this to (e-mail address removed)

Yet another lie from the unscrupulous spammer.

The sum total of his post was the subject:
"Can I make my database notify my customers via email?"

Sincerity has nothing to do with it. Free support is FREE.
So how many burglars get off by saying they were "sincere" about liberating
their victims from their possessions?
He said he did not know where to start and is in a time crunch.

For a message that only had a subject line of "Can I make my database notify
my customers via email?" and no message,
that is a very interesting interpretation.

No one said it was okay. You are the worst and most persistent offender, so
it makes more sense to concentrate on bringing you in line. Besides, not
complaining about your solicitations would give RobFMS the impression that
solicitation is allowed.
I have a calendar ... <more blatant advertising removed>
