can I change the default LINE STYLE?

How do I make it so the default line style on the drawing toolbar is 2 1/4
points instead of 3/4 points?

Draw a line onto the slide, change it to 2 1/4 points. Now, right click on
the line, select Set AutoShape defaults.

Thanks, that was an interesting new trick, but it didn't do what i was
looking for. I usually click on each image and then press the "line style"
button and manually select 2 1/4. This outlines the picture with that size
line. But I don't want to manually select the width of the line each time....
How do I set it to 2 1/4?

Just as Shawn told you. Select any line one time and set it's size using a
right click and size the line Format Auto Shape. Once that is done, right
click the same shape and click Set Autoshape Default. This will not change
the current lines other than the one selected.

Now, if you want to change all the existing lines on a slide, make sure you
click the Arrow on the Drawing toolbar, move the cursor to the top left of
the screen and hold the left mouse button and drag down and right to
encompass all the images on the screen. Let go of the left mouse button.
Right click on any of the lines on the screen and then left click on Format
AutoShape.

If you are talking about borders around imported images...Once one image has
been inserted right click on the picture. Left click on Colors and Lines
tab. Set the image like you want the border. Before Clicking on OK, check
the Radio button on the lower left of the window that says Default for New
objects.

This is what I am talking about:

I have a bunch of slides with many images on them.

I want to outline them all.

The method I have been using to do this is with the drawing toolbar.

I click on the paintbrush (the color I want), then I click on the "line
styles" button and move the cursor down from 3/4 pt line to select 2 1/4 pt
size line.

I want to be able to click on the line style button or some other button to
automatically make the outline 2 1/4 pt size. I don't want to select it
everytime.

thanks,

PPT treats images a bit differently from other drawing objects; it doesn't seem
that you can set default line styles for them.

Our ShapeStyles add-in lets you apply line and other styles to pictures with a
single click. The free demo lets you create up to five styles, so you might want
to give it a try; http://www.pptools.com/shapestyles/

If the objects (images) are already placed on the screen Select them all by
either doing a Ctrl + A (only use this method if there are no text boxes on
the screen) or hold down the Shift key while clicking on each slide in turn.
Once there if you change the border on one image all the images will change.

So... how long is the demo good for I think i might download it? Do you have
anything that makes cretaing pop-up text or floating text (or whatever it is
called when you hover the mouse over and image and text appears in a
presentation) faster?

So will it work if I have already created all the images and now I just want
to outline them???

Yes, exactly. You format one the way you want, memorize it as a style and it'll let
you apply the works, line color, thickness etc. to any other image you select. In
fact if you've multiple images on a single slide, you can select them all and it'll
apply the style to all at once.

There's no time limit on the demo. It simply limits the number of styles you can
create.

Not that I can think of offhand. What steps would you follow to do it manually?
