Desmond

Hi Why can I not change the defaaults in word 2007.

Open a new word document. And find sections Font. Paragraph, Styles.
The last one Styles has 4 visible styles.
Normal
No Spacing
Heading 1
Heading 2

I want the default to be No Spacing but Microsoft don't allow this to
happen.

Desmond,

You have landed in the PowerPoint newsgroup. You might want to ask your
question in the Word newsgroup. With that said, I don't think you can make
your default style anything but Normal. However, you can change the Normal
style. I hate the default style so I have adjusted my Normal to be
single-spaced with no space before or after paragraphs. Once you adjust
Normal, you can set that to be the default.

Try this one:

ublic.word.docmanagement&lang=en&cr=US>

I think this is what I did. On the Home Tab of the ribbon, click on the
bottom right corner of the Style section. You should see a toolbar. At the
bottom of the toolbar, there are three icons (that, I'm sure are complex and
meaningful, but I can't figure out what they are supposed to say). The icon
on the right is the one you want. That is for "Manage Styles." Click on it
to bring up a dialogue box. If it is not already selected from the list,
pick the Normal style. Click Modify. Make the adjustments you want (such as
changing line-spacing and paragraph spacing). Click the radio button for
"New documents based on this template." Click OK. New documents should now
follow this modified style.
