Can GIMP slice images to HTML as Fireworks and Photoshop?

I'm looking to switch from the Fireworks to GIMP, because I've turned
into a freeware software freak and, I really appreciate the
Freeware/Open Source work, but, I dunno if GIMP can satisfy one thing
that makes me stay with Fireworks (and Photoshop does it too!) and that
is slicing a picture for converting it in a HTML web page. Can it be
done? I'm talking about using Windows version of GIMP by the way, so if
anyone knows about it, please tell me if it's possible and how can it
be done. Thanks.

You might find it more of an advantage to you to post general GIMP
questions in the newsgroup: comp.graphics.apps.gimp
