Can connect to VPN from Vista but not XP Home

Hi All,

I have a VPN set up on an XP Pro machine at work.

When I am at home I am able to connect to the VPN from my Vista Ultimate
Desktop...map drives...the whole bit, no troubles at all.

My new laptop is running XP Home. I can connect to the VPN with no
troubles, but I am unable to map any drives, or see any computers on the work
network.

Another associate of mine has an xp home laptop as well, and he has the same
difficulty as well....he logs on just fine...but thats it.

I'm not sure whats causing the problem here. Help!

Can you ping the VPN host by IP if you turn off the firewall?

Posting the results of both Vista and XP ipconfig /all may help.

I seem to have fixed it. The default gateways on both the server and client
side were set the same. I origionaly only changed the ip range of the
client and server...based on another post I had read (i.e. 192.168.0.2-10 for
the server and client was 192.168.0.50-60). Once I changed the default
gateway of my router at home here to 192.168.2.1, I was in.
For whatever reason, vista didnt seem to mind either way, but it made all
the difference for my xp home client.

Problem solved!
