Can Connect to VPN but cannot PING

Hi All,

We are using Microsoft VPN on a Windows 2000 Server and all our users
can connect to the VPN successfully with no problems. However, we just
added one user who brought his own laptop with XP PRO and he can
connect and authenticate with the VPN but can't ping anything on the
internal network, nor can I ping him from the server.

It says he's connected both on his client and he showing up OK on the
RAS but he just can't access the network. I checked all the settings
against other XP Pro laptops and everything appears to be identical.
Even did an IPCONFIG/all and all the settings are showing the same on
working clients as compared to the trouble client.

I'm at a loss?

It could be the firewall on the client. Does he have a third party
firewall? Or the windows firewall is automatically on with XP SP2.
