Can a USB thumbdrive become "a:"?

Sorry if the answer to this is posted somewhere else, but I'm computer
illiterate and can't find it.

I have a purchased software package that requires a floppy disk to run.
(Eventhough it is installed via CDs). My HP Pavillion a44n did not come
with a floppy drive.

Is there a way that I can configure WinXP so that I can plug in my USB
thumb drive and have it known to the system as letter "A:" ?
It doesn't have to be bootable, but it has to be A:

Thanks!
Ekim

Nevermind. I found the answer.
The drive letter can be changed from the control panel.

It figures...
I spend a few hours unsuccessfully looking for the answer online.
As soon as I post a request for help - I find it in the very next place
I check.

I wouldn't even think of buying a computer without a floppy. If the HP
altered motherboard allows it, new floppy drives are very cheap and very
easy to install.
