Can 9100 take a vcr?

I'm wanting to stream vcr tape to computer so I can burn them onto a DVD.
Is it possible with this card? I bought a converter to go from the
composite connectors of the vcr to the s-video on the card. There is only
the monitor connector, s-video and dvi inputs on this card. Screen on
monitor gets shakey and changes to smaller size when I hook up the
connector. Do I need to turn down the resolution on the monitor? I can't
find detailed instructions to figger out how to do this, but ain't havin'
much success with trial an' error. Any suggestions or a url would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks much.

All the connectors are signal OUT. That s-video connector is video out.
Period. If you want to input video signal pick up an AIW card or a
dedicated video editing PCI card.

What you want to do is video capture, which in general, video cards
don't do. There are exceptions, called "ViVo" cards (Video in, video
out), and cards like the "All-in-Wonder" series, but for the most part,
the function that you want is performed by TUNER cards, not video cards,
or by external devices with USB2 or Firewire interfaces.

[The BEST device for doing this is a digital camcorder with
"pass-through" A-to-D conversion. This is most commonly found in many
Sony Digital-8 camcorders, although some others have it as well. you
feed the video into the camcorder (as if you were going to dub or copy
it), and it comes out to the computer from the camcorder's Firewire output.]

I think you can get a Tvcard and use the input from your Vcr.

As already stated you need a VIVO card. However, depends what you mean by
composite... if it's modulated over UHF, then you need a tuner, if it's the
yellow phono style plug, then you should be good to go with a VIVO or AIW
card.
