I went and splurged for a s-video cable.
I can see what's up on the channels via s-video and composite now. Actually I
think I always had composite.
Unusual setup might be some of the problem. If there is..
I lost the TV Tuner for the TV ages ago. But for some reason it had no effect
on displaying a signal from a VCR or external tuner. So for the past 7 years
I've run the TV input into the VCR's. And farmed out the outputs from the VCR
to both the TV [mono plugs] and to the AIW 9800 purple cord.
Also have a splitter on the TV input from the antenna. Sending the TV signal
from the antenna to the back of the AIW 9800.
Just now had to replace the antique VCR into a DVD/VCR combo play-record. in
analog. The sound trails by as much as 3-4 seconds. With composite and s-video
all's in synch.
So naturally I'm not too interested in using the analog. But if I setup the
schedules to s-video or composite, you might as well throw the schedule away.
It doesn't change channels.
If I turn the VCR off, composite and s-video go off. But the analog is still
there..
How do I get the AIW 9800 to use S-video or composite, and only the VCR stuff
when there's something on the VCR like a VCR tape that I want to watch ?
The computer has everything [DVD, CD, and TV] the only thing it needs to get
from the vcr/DVD is the VCR tapes.
