cameras and scanners issue

Once connected & a driver applied, all Imaging devices should
automatically work with Scanner & Camera Wizard - Unless a
3rd-Party application has been associated with the device to do
imaging operations instead of WIA.

Hi

If it's a USB camera install the software for it *before* you attach the
camera. You will be informed when to enable the camera during the
installation.

Thanks for your responses, but here is the real problem that I thought adding
the camera to the list would fix.

My friends computer running XP, used to bring up the camera and scanners
wizard when plugging in a USB card reader with the camera's memory card
plugged in. She then could download the pics as if it was the camera. Since
then she had the computer rebuilt for some reason. Now when she plugs in the
USB card reader the wizard comes up and when she trys to download the pics as
before, it says that there is no camera recognized. I showed her another
method of downloading the pics from the card reader, but she insists on doing
it the old way. It seems that all of the camera software is loaded onto the
computer and I reloaded it all, but the camera doesn't show up in cameras and
scanners wizard. If the camera is plugged in everything works fine, but she
insists on using the card reader. I didn't want to make this so long winded.

thanks,

gary
