cam not detected

My friend has a web cam which works in other
programs,works in msn messenger 6.0 tuning wizard, but
web cam settings in messenger says it's not detected.
anyone got any answers for this? would be most grateful

Greetings,

The actual 'Webcam' function in MSN Messenger 6 only can make use of Web Cam's which usually
are "real" webcams (that meaning, not DV cameras, camcorders, etc.). Instead, tell your
friend to initiate to a Video Conference instead (this option can be found under the Actions
menu, 'Start Video Conference'). The Video Conference option will use the same engine as in
the tuning wizard and therefore will work. Also please note that both sides must have
Windows XP for the 'Video Conference' option to work.
