Caller ID?

Hello, I have Windows XP I noticed that one of the columns in the incoming
fax folder set up is "caller ID" . There is not one number in the column
which leads me to believe that something is not working because I know for a
fact that some of the numbers from which I receive frequent faxes do show.
So I tried going everywhere within the "tools" menu to see if I could find a
place where I could tweak the caller ID column. Nothing. So, how can I get it
to work? My phone system has caller ID so thats not the problem. What can I
do?
Thanks, Catt

The fax modem has to have that functionality and the modem driver must
support it. I have a Broadxent based modem. The original driver supported
Caller ID. I have my fax set to popup a bubble on the screen to show who is
calling. I have the fax set to manual answer since I do not receive many
faxes. I noticed that the phone number no longer displayed. I discovered
that one of the Windows Updates had downloaded a newer modem driver which
did not support Caller ID. I reverted to the older driver and got it back.
