No more Caller ID

Up until two days ago, whenever my phone rang the fax monitor showed me
caller id. Now it just shows the fax monitor without the caller id. I have
looked in all of the settings that were mentioned in previous posts, but
cannot find anything that addresses caller id.

I think I have discovered the problem. The balloon message is not showing in
the taskbar like it used to. How do I enable the balloon messages?

I may have solved my own problem. For those of you experiencing this
problem...right click in the tray over the current time and choose
"properties". Under the "taskbar" tab go to the bottom. Next to "Hide
inactive icons" click "customize". On my computer I scrolled all the way down
into "past items" and found "modem on hold". I changed its setting to "always
show".

Now I receive caller id balloons from the fax monitor when my phone rings.
Yea!!

Boo hoo! The balloons are gone again. Any suggestions on how to allow balloon
popups in the tray?
