Call me stupid but I don't know how to go back and find my question when they
say I have an answer. Can you show me? Thanks. Better write me at
(e-mail address removed) or I won't be able to find the answer either. ha ha
Thanks again.

The easiest way is to flag the message. After you have posted your message
visit the newsgroup and check that it has arrived. When you see it, click
Message on the main toolbar and then select Flag message. A flag will then
appear next to the message.
Another way is to click Edit and then click Find>message in this folder.
Click the advanced find button and then browse to the nesgroup you want to
search. Next type in the search criteria, ie. your name in the From box or
the subject heading in the subject box etc. Click the box next to the
recieved before option and then click find. Once the message appears double
click on it to show your message. A date and time will also be displayed so
you can locate the original mesage in the newsgroup.

Instead of accessing this newsgroup through the web interface,
you might want to consider using Outlook Express or another
newsreader such as Mozilla Thunderbird or Forte Agent. Take a
look here for instructions on setting up OE:

Windows XP Newsgroup Setup Instructions for Outlook Express
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroupsetup.mspx

If you want you can click on this link and follow the
instructions that John Barnett MVP posted:

FYI, the answers that you received to your original question
may not be very helpful since you didn't provide the name of
the program you were trying to install on your new computer.
It's possible that this program is incompatible with Windows
XP.

FYI #2, not being able to find your original question isn't
stupid. It's simply a matter of using the web interface. What
may not have been a brilliant move was posting your real email
address. There's a good possibility that you will soon be
receiving a lot of spam.

Karen, I am surprised that nobody appears to have mentioned that the method
you are using to access this forum is prone to the problem you describe. Did
you access this forum directly through Window Help? That is the default,
called the CDO interface, and a very primitive method.

You can access this forum through Outlook Express, and have a first-class
experience, with flagging, deletion, searching, and many other abilities,
not to mention a much better viewing appearance. Go to this site:
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm
and follow the directions. Do not submit your real email. The NNTP Server
name to enter is:
msnews.microsoft.com
You will not have the problem you describe if you follow Michael's steps.

As long as you continue to use "X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows
2000" instead of a real news reader, you won't see replies. Even the one
built into Outlook Express is better than what you are using. And by
putting your email address in here, you are now going to get a ton of spam.

In the first place use a newsreader instead of the web interface which
is problematic. XP comes with a newsreader, Outlook Express, though
there are others to suite your taste. Here is a link on how to set up
OE to access these newsgroups:

If you need to locate a post use google groups advanced search:
