Hi Ronnie
Thanks again for your quick responce.
I will forget about problem 3 and the missing document folder in the My
Computer.
I took your advise and right clicked the fix on the website kelly's korner,
and I now have minimized windows in the task bar. Before I did this, I did a
sysem restore which it didn't alter anything, but, I have noticed now that my
icons to the left of the task bar are gone, and I can't seem to drag icons
from the desktop on to the task bar.
Could you help again, I have definatly got gremlins on this pc ha.
Kindest Regards

On Kelly's website try right clicking the link and select Save Target As... from the menu. In the Save dialog box, select the Desktop as the download location from the top drop down menu and click the Save button. It's possible that Norton is preventing the download of the script file. You may need to disable Norton while you download the file.
For problem 3, your Husband's documents folder, by default, should not display when you are logged with your own user account. You can access it in C:\Documents and Settings\<husbands account name>\My Documents.

Hi Ronnie
Thanks so much for your reply.
I have sorted the 1st problem, but the 2nd, about the window's not
minimizing, I did what you advised and clicked on the link, kelly's korner,
but I then got an error message stating:
can not find script file c;\document & settings\veracrossley\local
settings\temporary internet file content.
IE5\5N88YTDP\xp.taskbar_desktop_fixwall[1].vbs
I have at present IExplorer 6 which i have had for sometime. I have just
started to use the norton system's works and i wonder if i have deleted
something i shouldn't, because the problem has only just started.
The 3rd problem, the folder in question is the document file folder. When I
have "logged in" and pressed start to get to "My Computer" It displays My
documents, Guest Documents which are still there, but the other user which is
my husband's document folder is not showing anymore. I used to be able to get
into his documents without having to switch users to do it.
Many thanks for your time on this, I will look forward to your reply.

You should not need the installation CD to install the update? If you want to ignore this update, do this.
Open Internet Explorer and select Tools/Windows Update. On the update page, select the Custom Button and wait for the available updates to display.
In the Office SP3 update sectrion, remove the check mark at the top of that section and place a check mark in the "Don't show this update again" option.
For the second problem, go to the following website and scroll down to Line 240, left side. Click on "Programs aren't minimized in the Taskbar" to download the file. Double click the file to install the fix.

For the third problem, we need more details. What do you mean by "one of the users folders"? Is this the folder for the user that is currently logged on to the computer?

When I minimize my window, it won't do it, it just dissapears.
And finally, when I open My Computer, one of the user's folder is not listed
