Calendar Confusion

For more than a year I've have used as my only Outlook
file outlook.pst which is located on my wife's computer.
Our two computers are connected through home network.
When I open Outlook on my laptop Outlook opens the file
on my wife's computer. All was well; we shared contacts,
email accounts and folders and even tasks.

This week I convinced my wife to use Outlook's Calendar.
she noticed that a number of appointments were scheduled
an hour earlier than they should have been. She made the
corrections. Now when I open the Calendar on my computer
the appointments that she fixed are an hour later than
they should be. We have a mess! Half the appointments
on her computer are correct and half on my computer and
we don't know which is which or why Bill Gates did this
to us!

Her operating system is XP Home and mine is XP
Professional. We are both using Outlook 2002. Her clock
and my clock are with in a minute of being identical.

Any insight you can provide to help us resolve this
problem and restore domestic bliss would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks, GrandpaB

Bill didn't do it to you, you did. One of your PCs is correctly configured
for Daylight Saving Time and the other isn't. Simple. Make sure both the
Windows timezone/DST and the Outlook Calendar timezone/DST settings are
correct on both computers. And remember: don't try to open the same PST
from both computers simultaneously. (Actually, I suspect Outlook complains
if you try.)

Brian,
Thanks for the tip; you nailed the problem! After I
turned on "Adjust for Daylight Savings Time" on both
computers, the problem was gone. I had thought of that
as a possible problem, but when DST arrived both
computers made the adjustment. Since they both
automatically synchronize with an Intenet time server, I
guess that is how the one computer's time sprang forward.

Thanks again, GrandpaB

Since you are sharing the calander and contacts, you could use Plaxo to
sync all those items. they are at www.plaxo.com. You will need to
decide whose is the master contact and calender to upload the info.
Then login with the other pc a sync it. Both pc will update the info
from then on.
