Calendar/address book: sharing folder with only 1 .PST for n users

I'm going to share a folder on my file server for ten specific users
where I create unique .PST file.
For example I create test.pst and I assign full rights to this one for
my 10 users.
For every client, can I link MS Outlook to test.pst ? In this way I
could use ONLY sharing calendar and Address book ?
I'm not interesting to use mailbox on this pst, because for mailboxes
I can use local pst for each machine.

PSTs on network shares are not supported and can lead to data loss.
Moreover, PSTs can't be shared by multiple instances of Outlook except when
only one instance of Outlook is running at any one time.

It means that if user open remote .pst file, another client cannot
open it because it's locked from first user, It's ok ?!

My problem is to find easy solution for using shared calendar and
address book in MS Outlook ( no mailbox ) for 10 users.
My mail service is based on sendmail MTA, with about 1000 user
mailboxes and I don't want to leave behind this system.
I'm looking to avoid Exchange server purchase because for few users
it's not very convenient ! Suggestions ?!

Correct. If one instance of Outlook has the PST open, the PST is locked and
cannot be accessed by another instance. Even if only one Outlook instance
accesses the PST on a network share, however, even small interruptions in
network activity can lead to data loss in the PST.
