"Cached Exchange Mode" w/Outlook 2003 and Exchange 5.5

Hey All, Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a user who when in Cached Exchange mode calendar reminders
work, but e-mail takes forever to syncronise. The mail seems to
trickle in and won't update all folders regardless of how long he
leaves it open. When Not in Cached mode, his e-mail is all right
there, but his reminders fail to "pop-up."
I've tested this on my own account and I get the same result
(although my mailbox populates fine in cached mode). We're both using
"mailbox' pather then personal folders, and Outlook 2003 with an
Exchange 5.5 server.
Is there any way to;
a) force outlook to update his entire mailbox at once in cached mode,
so he can use reminders with an up-to-date mailbox(preferred)
or
b) get reinders to pop-up when NOT in cached exchange mode.
???
Any advice here would be appreciated.
Thanks

How big is his mailbox?
Delete the ost-file and have him resynch.
Start Outlook with /cleanreminders to reset the reminders

Thanks Robert, I just tested and ran this fix. Both his reminders and
all his e-mail work perfectly.
Sorry about the delay in response.
