Greetings to everyone,

I am using Windows XP Professional and connected to the
internet through local cable connection which does not
uses any cable modem or such device. It just uses the LAN
card (is that same as ethernet card, tell me this also)
and the software to get connected.

I need to know the following details. How I do get these:

PPPoe details
Ip address
subnet mask
DNS server address and others

I am asking for these detaisl because I am about to
configure the same on my Linux system so I need these
details.

Any help on this is muchly appreciated.

Go to Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter.
In the Compand Prompt window type: IPCONFIG , and hit enter.

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center"
2. In the Search box type : PPPoE , and hit enter.
3. Click on "Make a broadband connection using PPPoE".
