Bypassing login screen

Hi,

I've just reinstalled WinXP Home and thought it would be best to visit the
Microsoft Update page. I selected pretty much every option to upgrade and
now when I boot up I get a login username and password screen. There's no
password on my system so I just click OK and WinXP will finish off loading
as normal. Also, when I shut down my system the options I get are more
reminiscent of Win98 or WinME than what I was originally getting with XP
before the updates.

Any advice on how to revert to the standard XP set up would be appreciated.

Regards,

Hi Sonars,

Open the User Accounts applet in Control Panel, click on the "Change the way
users log on or off" link, then click in the checkbox beside "Use the
Welcome Screen". Click on the Apply Options button, then exit User Accounts
and Control Panel. Restart.

Regards,

This was caused the Dot Net Framework Update.

Click on Start and run: type in control userpasswords2
Uncheck the box User must enter a username and password.

Hi to you. If you go into control panel, you will see an
icon listed as "USERS" double click and delete the other
accounts that have been activated by update.
Jim.
PS.Control panel folder to be in "CLASSIC".
