burning to CD

Does anyone happen to know how, using Windows XP, you can select the
write-speed when burning to CD-ROM? I had to uninstall the software I used
previously for creating data CDs and that software had a drop-down menu
where you could select whatever speed you wanted. Thanks for any input you
can provide.

Open up "my computer" right click on the drive and select properties,click
on the recording tab,the burning speed can be found here.
