Burning CDs in WMP 11 using Windows XP

Have tried repeatedly to burn a music CD. Had previously used an external
burner for two years up until last week. All of a sudden unable to burn,
write speed error message while using Nero 6,then upgraded to Nero
7--adjusted the speed to lowest possible---still got a write error. Now I
have an internal burner everything is fine until I burn----and again the same
error message. I now believe the problem is in XP or WmP11 and my external
and internal burners are both just fine. Can anyone help ? Have tried to burn
CD but only 3 of maybe 10 would burn before getting the message, "put in
blank disc". Just bought them they are blank and new.

Nero does not like co-existing with other burning software.

Try disabling the IMAPI Burnin Rom Service in XP. Did that work ?

sorry, cannot find IMAPI in my files. Where is it located?

Right Click on My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications > Services >
IMAPI Buring COM Service needs to be disabled. Right click on it >
Properties > Startup type - change to disable > OK etc. Re-boot.

You won't be able to use WMP to burn CD's, but Nero should work fine.

Cheers,
