Burned songs sound horrible

Everytime I burn music to a cd it sounds distorted for some reason. The
songs sound scratched, almost like a static sound in the background. The
songs are successfully written to the cd, but when I play it either on my
computer or in my car it sounds horrible. Actually, it doesn't sound bad
until the 6th or 7th track (I know it sounds strange). I definitely know
it's not my blank cd's because I've used other blank cd's to test this issue.
If anybody can help me or tell me what's wrong, I'd really appreciate it.

Did you check the settings for your recording devices? It is also possible
that your burning program is not very good. Another thing to do is to turn
off all other programs while you are burning a CD.

btw I am not an expert. I am trying to figure out a problem too.

The mic input is a very high gain input, and that is why you're experiencing
the distortion. Open your mixer settings for your sound card and set it to
display "Record" properties. Look for a check box saying "20 db boost".
Uncheck it if it's checked. That may give you more control over your input
level. On the mixer "Play control", uncheck the 20db boost if it's there.
