I wrote yesterday about a setup problem on a hard drive that doesn't currently have an operating system. I'm beginning to think that I may need to re-format the hard drive, but it contains things I don't want to lose. My other hard drive, the one which previously contained only the operating system, (it's very small, that's why I installed a new one), has also crashed. I really have no way of running Windows, but I'm wondering if there is any way to copy all of my files to my CD burner or USB storage device from the command prompt, so I can backup before formatting. Can anyone help me
Thanks

Can't be done, get yourself another hardrive and install
it as master, load your operating system then connect your
old hardrive as slave, your files should be available.

"Can't be done"

B**S***....

Can easily be done.. Symantec Ghost with CDRW support can back up from DOS
to a CDRW or supported DVDRW

Then you install Ghost on your new OS and use Ghost explorer to pull the
files you need.
