I hope this is usable for more than just me:

Once installed (on a Linux box) you can access the CD burner in this
Linux box from any PC in your network as long as it has Java installed.

Reread the paragraph where I spoke of "your network".
This means: a private network. Now, you are responsible to keep your
internal network private.
If you cannot do this, you should leave the internet at once, because
malicious programmers are everywhere and will exploit any flaw they
find.
