Bulleted Paragraph Background

Is it possible to set the background color for a bulleted paragraph?

In particular, I'd like to have the newly appearing bullet be in some
text with a specific background color, then, when the next bullet
appears, the background color of the last bulleted paragraph reverts to
normal and the background of the new bulleted paragraph takes on the
highlighted color.

I did not find any way in PPT 2002, using the slide master font choices,
to do this. Can it be done through the custom animation interface or in
some other manner?

You can set the "After Animation" font color under Custom Animation.
Right-click your bulleted text box and select "Custom Animation". Set the
animation that you want, then click the dropdown arrow and select "Effect
Options...". On the "Effect" TAB is the "After Animation" setting. Change
it from "Don't Dim" to the color you want.

Joseph, you could place a colored rectangle behind the text and animate it,
so that it moves down a bit with any new bullet point appearing.

Kind regards,
Ute
