Long time no see :) Been busy and haven't popped onto the forums for a loooong time, hope everyone is ok.

I have a max budget of £250. I have a monitor and peripherals. I also have a ATI X300SE gfx card, not sure if i should use it as the pc wont be used for playing games, well not latest ones anyway. I also have a PSU which came in an acer pc, this is very quiet and i have had no problems with it so i may use it here,

The pc will mainly be used by the rest of the family for homework and browsing the net really. I would like some sort of future proofness so its worth upgrading rather than buying a whole new pc. Not sure how possible this is with my budget?

Hope you can help, im finally going to build it as its gonna be an early xmas present for the family. This is the following i came up with:

CPU

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=401097

Motherboard

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=457921

Memory

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=121631

Hard drive

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=172208

Case (possibly)

http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=CAA-ZEN01BK

PSU (possibly)

http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=PSA-PP400B

I have been told although the motherboard is for uATX but it will fit in a normal ATX case and that its the best motherboard available for the price.

Please feel free to make changes or come up with a completely different spec within my price range.

Thanks

I think the reason nobody can be arsed to reply is that's a lot of links to click on and then try and remember the components. Supplying a list of components with prices and then links might have provoked more response.

Me being a mug though, I looked ;)

It's a good system, particularly for the price, I'd say go for it. Case and PSU as well.

Total price I made to be £254. Add about eight quid for postage from both suppliers and you're looking at £270.00.

You're over your own budget my son :D
