It's about time I updated my cheap RAM, methinks. Thing is, I'm really stuck as to whether to get 2GB of good RAM, or 1GB of VERY good RAM. These are both in the same price range-

2GB Corsair Platinum PC3200 @ 2-3-3-6
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=156701
or
1GB Corsair XL-PRO PC3200 with LED Activity Lights @ 2-2-2-5
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=118551

Aparently the really good stuff is up to 38% faster than most PC3200 due to the low latency timings, but then again I'd like the extra AGP aperture from having 2GB of RAM...

What do you reckon with RAM - even generally - quantity or quality?

If you must i would go for the 2GB as some games are now utilising the extra Ram.....;)

2 gig for sure, when I upgraded from 1 gig to 2 gig I noticed a big difference in everything. Games load quicker, play smoother and im able to have them on higher settings becasue of this. Also just genral computer tasks like media player load alot quicker.

I'd go for the 2GB stuff too - its still good stuff. Cheapo generic stuff I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, but Corsair Platinum PC3200 ain't too bad (even if a bit slower than the other one)... however you will notice much more of a boost with 1GB extra than slightly faster RAM :)
