OK.....I'm starting to waste a great deal of time on this one and I need it
to stop.
I have started to get this error message (BSOD) and as yet I have been
unable to find an answer as to why. I am running Windows XP Pro with all
updates and service packs correctly installed. To the best of my ability I
have up to date drivers for all of my hardware.
It first started to re-boot when I was playing games, random intervals with
no specific trigger point. It could be at the start of the game or after
several hours of play. I have check my temps and all are fine and within
their limits so overheating is not the problem.
Decided to not play games and get on with work....but it has started to
creep into every day computing...again no specific trigger point. It does not
occur anywhere near as frequently as when I am gaming. Game=every time!
General Computing=every 4-5Days.
I have searched the knowledge base and come up with the 2 responses. I have
2XUSB 2 external drives which are plugged in but not switched on.

Specs:
AMD 2700
2Gb Ram
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
XpertVision 6800GS Super 512Mb
Pioneer DVD Burners X2
Western Digital H/D's X2
Maxtor SATA H/D X1
Belkin USB PCI Card
Seagate H/D's (External) X2
Floppy X1
Logitech MX1000 USB Mouse

Windows XP Pro (5.1.2600) with SP2 (install date 14/10/2005)

Greetings Rock...that was one of the two knowledge base responses that I was
alluding to in my post (should have been clearer) and was an interesting
read. I am unsure of if that is my problem as I believe that it would only
occur if the drives were switched on and active....I could be wrong so I have
unplugged them just in case.

This weekend I am going to do some tinkering about inside my system to
ensure that everything is set up correctly (ie plugged in). I will be
experimenting by removing all USB devices/cards/ports/drivers and seeing if
that will make any difference during game play. Then it is just a matter of
putting stuff back in a gradual manner until it falls over....simple!!

Any other thoughts will be greatfully investigated.....it is a real bummer
not being able to play games.
