Bug in OE (WinXP SP2)

T

Tobias Wendorff

Hi there,

I have just visited a friend, who is running SP2 (WinXP), German Edition.
I wanted to test the new OE and its new features ... than this happenend:

When opening "Create Message" the window looks like this:
http://tobwen.bei.t-online.de/winfuture/nn-sp2.png

SP1 looks like this:
http://tobwen.bei.t-online.de/winfuture/nn-sp1.png

I replaced the file "msoe.dll" and now "Create Message" looks fine,
but all new features are gone (of course).

And the other problem ... when replacing the file, OE's main-window
looks like this:
http://tobwen.bei.t-online.de/winfuture/hpt-sp2.png

Anybody else with these problems??

Bye
Tobias

Unless you take special steps, WinXP protects msoe.dll from replacement by
anything but an update by Microsoft.

Really? Than this protection was switched off on the PC.
But I am only asking if this but appears on other systems, too or if it's
only a problem of the German-Version or if it's a problem of his PC ?!

I've never heard of it before.

Did msoe.dll still have the changed version number after a restart?

No, it did not - but that is not the problem.
The problem is described on the pics, I have posted ...

Could you please send me your msoe.dll ?
