I was on my machine last night and I noticed a bug on my monitor.

I went to flick it off and discovered it wasn't on my monitor it was IN my monitor!!!!

God it is so annoying! I hope it dies and falls out the way. I just find it such a distraction.
I might ring Acer if it's still there in a couple of days and see what they say.

Cheers,

Rich

That is pretty funny. Good news is that bugs dont live that long. So it should stop moving soon. Then you'll just have a static bug behind the monitor!! :)

omg this is so weird...

About a week ago i had EXACTLY the same problem.

Looked in my monitor and saw a thunderbug - went to flick him off and he was inside, BEHIND the pixels!!

One of my friends named him Maurice.

he is gone now.

I did have a photo of Maurice but i have misplaced it...

Maybe he wandered off and got zapped in the power supply or something...

Well it's dead!

Thing is it's in a viewable area

Now what do I do? Do I ring Acer and act dumb and say I think I've got dead pixels on my monitor? or do I tell the truth and say there is a dead insect?

I doubt the dead insect scenario would be covered under warranty but if they take it away thinking dead pixels and they get rid of the bug then job done :thumb:

But if I say a dead bug from the off there likely to laugh at me

I'm in need of some advice plz

Well it's in the hands of Acer now ;)

I've borrowed a flatscreen from work in the meantime to tide me over.

Decided to act ignorant and said there was a mark there. :)

I read a story somewhere in a pc mag a while ago where someone had a wasp (dead) stuck in their monitor! I happened at the factory, and got shipped to him with a crushed wasp behind the screen

Sent my monitor back to Acer/Esplex for repair, that was 3 months ago, still no news.
I wish you more luck than me, and many others.

I have dealt with Acer before as we have acer monitors at work, and yes they did take a little while to get it sorted (not quite 3 months) but as I have got a monitor from work I'm ok for now.
Besides where the main repair centre is it's only 25 mile away from where I live so I can always go down there and give them a bit of abuse if it starts to drag on :D

Wish I could drive down, live on the Isle of Wight, cost a bomb to get off.
Still living here has it's compensations.
We Have dealt with Acer in the past, the company I work for ditched Acer a long time ago because of there poor support. Me, I should have known better, never mind the weather is nice.

Well it's been repaired and has been shipped using DHL.
It will be here in the next 2 days. Had a text message to inform me and they've also updated the support section on there website aswell.

Quite a quick turn around. As long as they have fixed the problem I will be well happy.

Well its turned up today and its all fine :)

It says on the repair sheet that the LCD panel was replaced due to a 2-3mm vertical line :D

Cheers,

Rich
