Hi there

A recent installation has resulted caused my Win2K Pro installation to
go belly up i.e. whenever I click on IE6.0 or Explorer I get the
following messge dialog

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

buffer overrun detected!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORER.EXE

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
interal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must
be terminated.

Help please

Hi there

I think it might be OSS Video converter although I can't be 100% sure.
Also I have
- installed IE6.0 over the IE5.0
- applied SP4 over my existing SP2

but still the problem does not go away. I'm currently looking at a
painful system rebuild unless there's someone out there who knows
about this problem.

Regards

Daniel

I get the same error message when I try to open Explorer...
I have no problem in safe mode, so I believe it's an application
loaded in memory that causes the trouble. It is the second time that I
receive this kind of error message, but last time it worked just
unistalling a program called more or less "navhelper" or something
like that but now I have no navhelper installed and I tried to close
all the processes that the system allowed me to end, but without any
result.

Hi, I have good news! It was Navhelper fault... I've run a Registry
Cleaner program called RegSeeker (freeware) in Safe mode, so I've
cleaned the registry and unistalled this Navhelper program. It's ok
now!
