BSOD: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR when playing sound

Hi experts,

My Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook S-7020 notebook regularly crashed with a
Blue Screen of Death and the following error:

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

*** STOP: 0x0000007A (0xC07B98D0, 0xC000000E, 0xF731AED0, 0x30485860)

*** ftdisk.sys -- Address F731AED0 base at F7314000, DateStamp 3b7d8419

The crash only occurs when I play some kind of sound or video for a
longer period of time. E.g., after half an hour of music playback in
iTunes/Winamp or half an hour into a DVD with different players.
Usually the system halts first (no further interaction possible) with
the sound screeching and a few seconds later the BSOD appears.

So, even though the error message indicates a hard disk problem, I
suspect something wrong with the sound drivers. Don't know though. I
ran memcheck and had the harddisk checked with the manufacturer's DOS
utility, both without errors.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Ole

Make sure you have latest drivers. Then click start - run - type:
chkdsk /r and press enter. press Y and press enter again. Reboot your
computer and let it check your harddrive.

Thanks. Doesn't help though. Even the manufacturer's tools do not find
any harddrive errors.
